Ace of space: The Tea Party Cafe

Paw-rents of bigger furkids will appreciate the abundance of space at The Tea Party Cafe at Biopolis. The joint’s simple but well-executed menu is a bonus!

Dog-friendly joints in Singapore tend to have one thing in common: They’re too small for big hounds. The Tea Party Cafe breaks the mould with a sprawling 1,700 sq ft, 120-seater (70 indoors and 50 outdoors) space set in the biomedical science hub of Biopolis. The Tea Party Cafe’s third and newest branch (it has two other branches at Sixth Avenue and Singapore Management University), the Biopolis outlet serves classic cafe grub like soup, pastas, local fare, freshly baked scones, and on occasion, cupcakes (when a customer places an order beforehand).

PET-FRIENDLINESS
The spacious outdoor area is laid out such that there’s plenty of room between tables. Hence, it makes a superb hangout for those with bigger breeds, like Samoyeds and Siberian Huskies. Although the cafe doesn't have a menu for dogs, it sells a wide selection of treats (from $8 per packet) from The Snoring Dog Bistro.

ACCESSIBILITY
Tucked in the Amnios block among a maze of office buildings, the cafe is located in a quiet spot with low traffic. Signs to Amnios block’s car park are a tad inconspicuous, so you might miss the turning into the car park. However, there’s plenty of parking available.

PRICE
With mains ranging from $4.50 to $11.90, sides from $2 to $6.50, freshly baked cakes at $5.50, and drinks starting from $2.50, dining at The Tea Party Cafe is easy on the pocket. Moreover, the joint absorbs GST and service charge.
