If your dog has
spent the past year putting up with your pandemic-induced bad moods and still gets grumpy when you leave the house without them, consider The Dempsey Project’s Dog Day Afternoon as your way of saying thank you

We’ve attempted bribing our dogs with treats. We’ve promised extra belly rubs. We’ve even tried tiptoeing outside while they’re sleeping. But after a year of staying indoors with our beloved canines due to safety measures, it feels harder than ever to go out without them (plus, they’re so cute, we don’t want to!).

Thanks to a thoughtful new dining initiative by newly opened The Dempsey Project, you don’t need to leave your furry friends indoors. Rather, you can head to their spacious tropical enclave in Dempsey Hill and kick back with your dog by your side at their free Dog Day Afternoon.

Every Dog Has Its Day!

Speaker: Expert K9 trainer and author Eli Atias

Taking place on the first Monday of May, June and July, The Dempsey Project’s Dog Day Afternoon is a chance for you to hang out with your pet away from the confines of your house. Each afternoon will feature two separate sessions to accommodate safety restrictions, and for the May, June and July dates guests will have the chance to relax with like-minded pet-lovers and garner expert advice about caring for your pooch from expert K9 trainer and author Eli Atias.

As a veteran dog trainer in the military and security forces around the world, Eli has trained thousands of dogs, inherently understands canine behaviour, and has penned what is probably Singapore’s first dog-training handbook for the layman, Yes, You Can Train Your Dog. Hear his amazing story, receive unparalleled advice on caring for your pet, and discover the six basic commands that he believes you need to master to build a happy and healthy relationship.

Along with Eli being on hand to answer your dog dilemmas, every guest at Dog Day Afternoon will get exclusive one-on-one time with him to discuss more specific issues. So, if your pet doesn’t understand the word “Sit!”, only wants to eat luxury snacks, or is forever scratching their bum, now’s the time to talk about it!

Show Off Your Dog's Skills

“The culture of dog ownership is increasing,” Eli says. “People here truly love their dogs, but they are missing the communication link. The owner will receive 10 times more affection from the dog when they understand them.”

Of course, if you’re going to take your dog out, it makes sense to show off their Asia’s Got Talent-worthy skills while you’re at it. Demonstrate three commands that you’ve already taught your furry friend and you could win a signed copy of Yes, You Can Train Your Dog, a K9 Bioshield Daily Disinfectant Spray that keeps your pets safe from common bacteria and viruses, plus a year’s subscription to Pets Magazine.

While your pooch may get all of the attention, you’ll also reap the rewards of fresh air, sophisticated surroundings, and mouthwatering dishes** at The Dempsey Project. Sink into the comfy outdoor seating under a cooling canopy and dive into their extensive menu of global culinary delights including Cheese Platters, Streetstyle Dahi Papdi Chaat or Gunpowder Potatoes washed down with a refreshing loose leaf tea. Sharing with your pet is optional!
