5 K-Pop Stars & Their Pets

The hallyu wave is strong in Singapore and while many fangirls may be cooing over their favourite Korean idols, their pets deserve some attention too!

1. BTS' Kim Seokjin and his Sugar Gliders, Eomuk and Odeng

Last year, BTS’ Kim Seokjin revealed his two latest pets to the world: two Sugar Gliders named Eomuk and Odeng that are named after Japanese fish cakes. Ever since, these two furry critters have made appearances on the group’s shared Twitter account with many videos of Seokjin feeding and playing with them. Seokjin was hesitant to share his pets with the world because he was afraid that young fans might go buy Sugar Gliders just because they were cute. Instead he urges potential Sugar Glider paw-rents to think carefully about wanting to own them.

2. GOT7's Mark and Youngjae and their dog, Coco

Fans started guessing if GOT7’s Mark Tuan and Choi Youngjae were going to get a pet when images of the two in a pet store resurfaced. A while later, the duo took to social media to reveal the latest addition to their family--a Teacup Maltese named Coco! Coco appears so often on Youngjae’s Instagram account that it looks like it belongs to the canine instead of the idol. Either way, both members of the group dote on the tiny pup and express their love for him often.

3. Twice's Tzuyu and her dog, Gucci

When it comes to dog loving, no one can beat Chou Tzuyu from Twice. The 18-year-old starlet is often seen cooing and expressing her love for dogs and desire to pet them constantly. She’s had several livestreams where she’s admitted that she’ll pet any dog she sees and even posts pictures of her playing with dogs on social media. That’s what makes her relationship with her pooch, Gucci, all the more special. Tzuyu loves her dog so much she’s even got a hat designed with Gucci’s face on it.

4. EXO's Baekhyun and his dog, Mongryong

Said to have a ‘beagle personality’ (which means that he’s happy-go-lucky), it’s no surprise that EXO’s Byun Baekhyun seems to love dogs so much. While compared to a Beagle, the international sensation seems to have a thing for Pembroke Welsh Corgis, and even owns one himself! Mongryong is often featured on the star’s Instagram page and the adorable pup honestly puts his paw-rent to shame in star-factor. Needless to say, Baekhyun seems to have some competition in the popularity department when it comes to his fluffy canine.

5. F(x)'s Amber and her dog and cat, JackJack and Tuna

If you want to see more of F(x) member Amber Liu’s pets, you should definitely head over to the Instagram page she’s created dedicated to JackJack the Chihuahua and Tuna the Russian Blue Cat. It’s a wonder how the star can maintain her pets’ account while balancing the workload of an idol (which includes hours of practice and coming up with music) while travelling to the U.S. and back. It must be her love for her furkids that keeps her going!
