Car 4Dogs Concept: A Drive In The Right Direction

There's a car designed just to transport your fur-kids in style and comfort.

Transporting pooches in a car can be a bit bothersome for you and your four-legged companions, particularly long-distance travel. An answer for this came from Nissan when it recently launched the Nissan X-Trail 4Dogs concept – a car that’s tailor-made just for such situations.  

After carrying out a study on 1,360 paw-rents, The Kennel Club, an animal welfare organisation in the UK, concluded that almost every dog owner sees their pet as a part of their family. Not only that, but 98.7 percent of dog owners also use their cars to transport their pooches.

The findings from this study prompted Nissan to design a vehicle specifically to cater to this group of people.

Lounge Space

Built on the existing Nissan X-Trail model, the Nissan X-Trail 4Dogs puts the needs of your furkids first.

The cargo area, which has a cargo volume of 550 litres, will be transformed into a comfy doggy lounge space that’s fully lined with wipe-clean leather, making cleaning up after your pooch hassle-free.

A dog bed that includes a safety harness, a no-spill water bowl and a smart treat dispenser that releases snacks in small amounts are just some of the features of this revamped cargo area.

These features can all be removed when not in use to create a usable storage space, and the car’s spare tyre will still be accessible. Of course, waste bags are kept at the side, always ready for use.

More Good Stuff

In a drawer under the load floor, there is a 360-degree dog shower and a dog dryer tucked neatly out of sight. Additionally, an interior drying system that brings warm air into the car will make sure that your dog is completely dry. A slide-away ramp is also available for you to guide your dog back into the car after a day out.

You’ll also be able to communicate with your furry friend while on the road, thanks to the built-in camera system. A seven-inch dashboard display at the front and a ten-inch LCD screen installed in the boot are equipped with microphones, allowing drivers to talk to their pooches behind.

This also enables you to monitor your dog, and make sure that he’s comfortable while you’re driving.
