Catty Couture: Karl Lagerfeld, Choupette and Tiffany Cooper
Choupette is really living the dream. She’s been on the covers of fashion magazines like Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, and has collaborations with big brands like Shu Uemura and Melissa under her belt. When she visited Paris, she even had special dishes whipped up especially for her—Café de Flore created the Croquettes ala Choupette, while Le Voltaire made Choupette’s Eggs! This spoilt princess is none other than the fluffy furkid of fashion legend, Karl Lagerfeld.
So what’s the latest project up her sleeve? On 1 April, Lagerfeld will launch a new line of Choupette-themed apparel and accessories at concept store, Colette. Before you start imagining odd-looking dresses with realistic kitty portraits, the project is actually in collaboration with French illustrator Tiffany Cooper, who has come up with a series of adorable and humorous cartoons of Lagerfeld and Choupette.
Besides a hilarious “CAT Lagerfeld” portrait to poke fun at Lagerfeld’s obsession with his furkid, the series also features artwork of Choupette skiing, reading and sharing spaghetti with daddy, all in his iconic black and white outfit.
So what do you think? We think it’s fur-bulous to know that under his icy exterior is actually a cat-loving softie, just like us!
