At first glance, this pair of sandals looks like a colourful take on the Japanese Geta, a traditional wooden slipper. But surprise, surprise! These are in fact as quirky and modern as they get.

The Ashiato sandals by Japanese fashion and toy company Kiko + feature wooden paw print soles, turning your footsteps into cute, giant versions of your furkid’s. It works the same way our favourite childhood stamp sets do: The sole stamps paw prints into the sand as you walk. While the sandals were designed to officially imitate the prints of the Lynx (a wild cat breed), they pass off as believable paw prints of almost any furry pet, especially to the untrained eye. Who knows? You may even have curious pet lovers following your big paw prints, hoping to chance upon an adorable, human-sized furkid.
