We all know the consequences of being too near a pooch when it’s shaking itself dry. In fact, researchers from Gerogia Tech have revealed that through this characteristic shake, Fido can remove up to 70 per cent of water off its coat – making it a very efficient drying method.
An artistic movement named Canismo, created by a Brazilian animal protection agency Procure1Amigo, has decided to use this to create awareness and raise funds for homeless animals. Using pieces of blank canvas and a soppy dog drenched in only non-toxic, pet-safe paint, the resulting pieces of art are created solely through the shaking motions of the pooch drying itself off.
A total of 18 pieces were created, of which all will be displayed for sale at the Perestroika Sao Paola, and funds raised will go to animal welfare organisations.
