As a 20-year-old tradition, fourth year veterinarian and bio-science students from Sydney University Veterinary Faculty have posed in the nude for their annual calendar, using pets and other animals to strategically cover their private bits up. This year, the profits made from the sale of the 2016 calendar will go to the “We're For the Bush” campaign. Australia is experiencing another devastating drought this year, with the disaster being declared at nearly three quarters of New South Wales. The campaign lends a hand to the affected families, by handing out grocery or fodder vouchers, and cash grants to support them and their farming operations.

As part of the course curriculum, fourth year students are required to attend classes at the Camden campus which has a great community vibe. Many of the students choose to live on campus together with the sheep and calves, allowing them to get in touch with an environment filled with nature and animals. Thus, with its stress-free and scenic view, it was the perfect location for their calendar photo shoot.

Titled “After Hours”, the calendar reflects a light-hearted and tranquil way of life. One may expect such a shoot to be an awkward one, but Matt Clifton, the Media Director of the calendar and a fourth year veterinary bioscience student suggests otherwise. “Everyone who got involved was so eager yet relaxed with being naked, so organising the crew was easy and was often hilarious!”

With a record number of 65 participants willing to go nude this year—especially with last year's “Under the Overalls” shoot going viral and being featured all over the Internet—there was a definite pressure on the part of this year's organisers. Of course, everything was for a good cause, so the charities could only benefit from any increased sales.

Although the “After Hours” Facebook page has received its fair share of negative comments from the public disapproving of the students' decisions to take part in such a racy photo shoot, veterinary student Sam Day, one of the Calendar Directors, stands by his cause, believing in the goodness of it.
