Travelling by air can get stressful for many passengers, from the long lines in custom checks to waiting for the delay to be over just to board the flight home. In Charlotte Douglas International Airport, eight certified therapy pooches are on duty to welcome and de-stress travellers.
Donning ‘Pet Me’ blue-yellow vests, the eight pooches, from retired Greyhound Sweetpea to rescued American Foxhound Rosco, are also therapy dogs in other facilities such as senior homes to nursing homes. They currently work at the airport from 10am to 2pm daily through a rotated roster, helping travellers for any needs, from a quick cuddle to leading lost visitors to the right gate through a busy airport.
